Valencia twice came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw against 10-man Real Madrid in the Primera Division to turn up the heat on Rafael Benitez.

Former Valencia boss Benitez is under
considerable pressure at Real and a late equaliser from Paco Alcacer at the Mestalla, moments afterGareth Bale had given the visitors the lead, will
have damaged his cause.

Real had also led in the first half after a Karim Benzema strike but that was cancelled out just before the interval by a penalty from Daniel Parejo.

In a chaotic and eventful game, Real had Mateo Kovacic sent off for a bad tackle on Joao Cancelo seconds after Cristiano Ronaldo had a penalty appeal turned down.

Both sides also had late chances to snatch victory in a frantic finish. The result meant Real missed the chance to move above Barcelona into second in the Primera Division and Gary Neville is still looking for his first league victory at Valencia, although his side performed with credit.

Bruno Soriano struck an injury-time penalty as Villarreal claimed a last-gasp 2-1 win at Deportivo La Coruna.

The midfielder tucked home his second of the game in the fifth minute of stoppage time after Fernando Navarro fouled Samu.

Bruno had earlier given Villarreal a 36th-minute lead but that was cancelled out by Luis Alberto three minutes into the second half.

Las Palmas twice fought back to earn a 2-2 draw at Athletic Bilbao and gain another point for their survival battle.

The Basques took the lead through Aritz Aduriz's 16th minute penalty but Las Palmas hit back just after the hour mark through Vicente Gomez, only for Inaki Williams to restore the hosts' advantage.

But Tana pounced on a slip by Oscar de Marcos with eight minutes to go to peg them back again.

The Canary Islanders are 15th in the table and are now two points above the relegation zone, while Athletic climb above Deportivo La Coruna and up to sixth.

Eibar romped to a 4-0 win at Real Betis as the tiny Basque team recorded their biggest win in their second season in the top flight.

Forward Ander Capa opened the scoring for Eibar with a shot that went in off a defender in the third minute.

Sergio "Keko" Gontan double the lead in the 17th, before Capa set up Adrian Gonzalez for a third goal and Borja "Baston" Gonzalez struck from long range.

Eibar climbed into eighth place, while Sevilla slipped to ninth after losing 2-1 to a Granada side that moved out of the relegation zone with the win.

Granada's goals came from young strikers Isaac Success and Adalberto Penaranda, who made a fantastic solo run to double the lead, before Sevilla's Victor Machin pulled one back right
before half-time.

Sevilla defender Adil Rami was sent off with four minutes remaining after he picked up two yellow cards for fouling Success and Penaranda.

Elsewhere, Real Sociedad fought back to salvage a 2-2 draw at Rayo Vallecano.
