First dates are most times awkward and you don’t want to make things any worse by going to those places only meant for full-time couples.
Here’s a few spots you might want to avoid to make things a little more enjoyable for you both
1. Family gatherings
Imagine being probed by an aunt or grandmother about when you to will be giving them a grandchild and y’all haven’t even done the deed yet. This might scare your date away, getting rid of whatever chances of a second date there might have been and you don’t want that just yet, do you? Why so serious? There’s time for everything, so why not take it one step at a time?
2. Weddings
It’s probably a bad idea to put your date through the whole happily-ever-after scenario so soon, when you barely know each other. Too much awkwardness, maybe?
3. Your birthday party
First dates are about getting to know each other. There’s no way you would have enough time to do that when every single person present wants your attention.
4. Cinemas
Whoever came up with the idea that sitting beside a total stranger for two hours, in the dark, not being able to speak and trying to act all cool whilst some possibly uninteresting movie plays on a large screen that you can’t avoid, was probably high on something.
5. Netflix and Chill
You don’t want your date thinking you’re a creep that just wants to get them in bed, do you? Everyone knows that inviting someone over to see a movie in a really into ate environment is a subtle way of saying you want to take them to bed. Yes, you might find your date very attractive and all, but maybe now is not the right time to want to get a glimpse at their underwear. Easy does it, tiger!
6. Dance clubs
There’s almost no way you will hear each other over the blaring sound of the music in a club and unless you’re Kaffy the Dance Queen or Michael Jackson, the first date is probably not the best time to show off your not-so-superb dancing skills. Play it cool and let them like you first before you start displaying all the ridiculousness you have hiding in your pockets.
7. Local bars
It will be a little more than awkward when you walk in with your new date and the bartender shouts ‘Oga, this your new babe fine o”.
Besides, you don’t want to get carried away and overdo the alcohol and get so comfortableto the point you begin a dramatic display.
8. Dinner dates
Let’s face it, dinner dates are a little too intimate to go on with someone you haven’t gotten that comfortable around. Things might get a little awkward when all you two have the option of staring at each other and making unnecessary small talk.
