It’s been a good day for Nigerian soccer stars in the English Premier League as they starred with individual clubs.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored again as Manchester City maintained their perfect start in the EPL. The Nigerian attacker scored a goal and provided an assist in Man. City’s 4-0 win over Bournemouth.
This comes after he scored the winning goal for City in the 2-1 derby win over Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, as well as the fourth in the 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Compatriot Alex Iwobi was also in impressive form for Arsenal, as the Gunners got a third successive league win with a 4-1 demolition of Hull City.
Iwobi’s 17th minute shot on goal deflected in off Alexis Sanchez to put Arsenal ahead. And Jayjay Okocha’s nephew went on to provide another goal, laying off a sublime back-heel pass for English forward Theo Walcott to score Arsenal’s second.
Elsewhere, 23-year-old Ahmed Musa was an unused substitute as reigning league champions, Leicester City beat Burnley 3-0 at the King Power Stadium.
