Lagos radio station Beat FM has acquired the rights to broadcast live commentary of matches of the English Premier League.
The station, along with its sister stations Classic, Naija FM, and Lagos Talks will broadcast at least five games a week. The rights were purchased from the popular English sports radio station, talkSPORT.
The deal means the stations will broadcast official live commentaries from all Premier League matches to listeners in Nigeria.
According to the managing Director, Megalectrics LTD, owners of the radio stations, Chris Ubosi, ‘knowing that football is one factor, which unites Nigerians, we’ll like to reignite that synergy and bring our audience closer to their favourite clubs and players.’
Announcing the deal, Jimmy Buckland, Director of Strategy for talkSPORT, said: “Football is adored by millions all around the globe and we are delighted that we can continue to extend talkSPORT’s coverage of live Premier League matches through our international broadcast partners.’
