As the news about Edo state governorship election postponement broke on Thursday, September 8, many Nigerians took to social media to air their views.
This came barely one hour after the Independent National Electoral Commission agreed to shift the Edo state governorship election by two weeks.

The decision to postpone the election was reached at a security meeting held in Benin, the Edo state capital this evening.
However, the postponement has been trailed with reactions as INEC has come under heavy attack from Nigerians, who have expressed discontent with the postponement.

INEC had announced its decision to hold the election, only for the commission to reverse itself hours later. Some Nigerians have dubbed the commission as confused following this decision.
