Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has declared that most of his players are fit after the international break.
The Premier League champions face Liverpool on Saturday, with several stars, including Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez and new £29m record signing Islam Slimani, returning from national team assignments.
“Slimani arrives this evening or tomorrow. I didn’t see him yet. He’s available for Saturday. He could play,” Ranieri said at his press conference on Thursday.
“We bought him because we believe in his ability. It’s important he understand the Premier League.
“He cost a lot of money but if you see the market it’s a crazy market.
“Nobody was injured during the international break. Everybody is in good condition.
“Kasper Schmeichel is ready to play.
“Nampalys Mendy needs more or less one week. Jeffrey Schlupp is very, very close to coming back.
“A lot of my players go around the world without playing but it’s good. They recover a little more.”
The Italian has also backed Liverpool to be in the title race at the end of the season despite their slow start.
“Liverpool is one of my favourites to win the league,” Ranieri said. “They are ready to fight for the title.”
