Usually not one to ‘offend his political connects’ as he said on his 2009 track Death of Autotune, hiphop legend Jay Z speaks on his country’s war on drugs and labels it ‘an epic fail that targets black people for doing the same thing that white Americans get rich for’.
In a poignant and very innovative four minute animated video, Jay Z narrates the progression of the war on drugs from the Ronald Reagan era when he himself was a drug dealing teenager, to present day drug laws that enable rich white businessmen to exploit legislation at the expense of poor black youths.
